White Cookies

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and oil. Add dry ingredients. Roll in balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet, and press with fork. Bake until light tan, 13 to 15 minutes.
