Five Spice Powder

Posted by WingsFan91 at recipegoldmine.com May 9, 2001

Yes, it is a Chinese spice mixture.... I buy mine at the local Chinese grocery, but here's a recipe to mix it yourself... Haven't tried it myself though....

5 teaspoons ground anise (aniseed)
5 teaspoons star anise
2 tablespoons whole cloves
1 (5-inch) cinnamon stick (cassia bark)
7 teaspoons fennel seeds

Using a blender, process all ingredients until finely ground. Store in an airtight jar up to 3 months.
